Lifestyle management program for children and young people launched

2nd March 2020

Gro is proud to announce the launch of the world's first digital type 2 diabetes management program for children and young people with type 2 diabetes. The type 2 diabetes management program was developed by Gro’s Co-Founder Charlotte Summers, paediatric dietitian Tara Kelly, and healthcare expert Dr Kesar Sadhra with input from over 50 young people and their families.

The programme utilises the Gro clinically validated architecture paired with personalised family-based education and behaviour change resources. Gro will be used to support at-home care to empower and establish long term, sustainable behaviour changes in both the young people with obesity and type 2 diabetes and their entire family.

The programme will be piloted in Slough in a first-of-its-kind intervention complementing a multidisciplinary team of paediatric healthcare professionals and a digital tool.

Charlotte Summers, Co-Founder and COO of Gro, comments: "We are incredibly excited to help young people with obesity and type 2 diabetes with a program built around a clinically validated architecture demonstrated to improve health outcomes."
