Gro and Dr Kesar Sadhra have launched a breakthrough family-based study looking at the use of digital interventions to manage type 2 diabetes for young people.

Gro is a scalable, engaging and effective digital health solution which provides structured education and lifestyle support on the topics of nutrition, sleep, activity and mental wellbeing. The program is based on the multi-award-winning Low Carb Program used in the NHS for adults with type 2 diabetes, prediabetes and obesity.

Dr Kesar Sadhra, lead GP at Manor Practice Surgery and DDM Medical Advisor comments: "I'm excited to help the metabolic health of our children and young adults with type 2 diabetes. The potential benefit to their health and wellbeing is tremendous."

The study will evaluate the outcomes of young people using the Gro app. Participants will be supported by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Charlotte Summers, Co-Founder and COO of Gro, comments: "Type 2 diabetes in children and young adults is on the rise and linked to a number of factors. I'm excited to help young people with type 2 diabetes with a holistic lifestyle management program that involves their family and carers."
